Description

I went back to one of my older Star Wars pics and redesigned the old Regent-class Star Dreadnought I made a while back. It was the first time I started making and posting Star Wars ships on DA. So we're back, redesigned and renamed and now for a backstory and detail. Also I was inspired by the Battleship Bismarck and thought about making a Star Wars version.

It was years before the Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts were built. But the idea of a 'super star destroyer' was highly popular. The idea of a gigantic warship with the power of an entire fleet of star destroyers captured the imaginations of the Imperials. There were several designs and prototypes that were built. It was this time that at less two super star destroyer designs were given the green light. The infamous Executor-class Star Dreadnought and the Arbiter-class Star Dreadnought. But the Arbiter-class would be the first to be built roughly in BBY 3. At less a year before the Executor-class. The first to be built was the Arbiter. A gigantic warship that the Imperial engineers hoped would prove to be the default of all future super star destroyers. Even a second ship of the class, the Accuser, was being built when the Arbiter went into service. However, it was quickly discovered that on the Accusers maiden voyage in BBY 1 that it had a huge design flaw when it encountered a rebel cell. The engines were extremely vulnerable to starfighter attack and bombardment. This forced the massive ships power cores to overload, causing it to fall into a gas giant and destroyed with all hands. It was clear when the Executor-class was far superior to the Arbiter-class in nearly every way. So only the Arbiter was the only ship of the class to remain as all other resources were put into building other Executor ships. 3 months after the Battle of Endor, the Arbiter would meet its end at the Battle of Manaan with a band of New Republic soldiers and Mandalorian rebels whom captured an Executor-class, the Enforcer, and used it to destroy the Arbiter and force it to crash into the seas of Manaan. It was one of the only times in the Galactic Civil War that two super star destroyers ever fought one another in battle.
